Friday Finds: Soldsie
A few weeks ago I was on the subway with friends on our way to an evening to the Museum of Fine Arts. After moments of silently engaging with her cell phone, one friend bursts out “I got it!!!” She was talking about her new, absolutely adorable necklace for a mere $20. And she bought it on Facebook.
The site to blame for my friend’s shopping instead of socializing habit? Soldsie. Soldsie enables vendors, such as the accessories store, Accessory Concierge, to sell items through social media by means of commenting “SOLD!” on the item post. Accessory Concierge is ideal if you’re looking for bold statement pieces to liven-up your fall look, but can’t afford J. Crew prices. You’re welcome for your new shopping obsession. And it’s ridiculously easy to use. Create an account, and then you pay once you receive a confirmation email through PayPal or with a credit card.
Here are some of the items I’ve seen pass through that I’m lusting after:
What do you think about checking out your friends pages then transitioning quickly into online shopping on Facebook? I don’t doubt this will be a new financial suck for me. But I mean that in the best possible way.
