Friday Finds: Rent the Runway
October is a CRAZY month for me – midterms AND two weddings to attend. Because I’ve been so swamped with school, I haven’t been able to go shopping at all (other than you guys telling me what to buy, of course). So how am I supposed to have time to figure out what to wear to these two weddings?
I’m really weird, I don’t like wearing dresses I already own to weddings. I’ve done it before, obviously, but more often than not, I’ll buy new. I KNOW – waste. of. money. In fairness, I do end up wearing the dresses again, but for some reason, weddings are those kinds of events that just nothing in my closet will do. PLUS weddings I attend are either from my family, or groups of friends, so people will know if I repeat an outfit. I know, right? The horror.
Guys, I get it, it’s bratty. I also buy one new dress per birthday. Basically, I just need an excuse to buy a new dress. But now, maybe I don’t need one.
Enter: Rent the Runway. This may not be news to you. In fact, Rent the Runway has been around for a while. I’ve used it before but this is the first time it’s really been a saving grace. Two fall weddings to prepare for … here’s what I’m thinking.
Again, my short stature allows for me to get away with shorter hemlines without the whole slutty factor. This dress is perfect for a fall/winter wedding.
It’s getting cold, a dress with sleeves is always awesome. Plus, lace is timeless, so you don’t need to worry about looking out of date in photos.
Cheetah print? A-line? Mixed patterns in one dress? Sold! This dress is crazy, yet still manages to seem prim and proper.
Statement necklace? Clutch? Some killer pumps? Awesome, awesome and more awesome. This may be my pick for the wedding I’m attending in a few weeks.
Have a winter wedding to head to? Gold and sparkles is the perfect way to celebrate the festive season. Ideal if you’re going to a wedding on New Years.
Normally, I would think that this color pink is strictly reserved for spring. However, the fabric is a bit heavier, and I’m loving the way they paired it with tights and a statement necklace.
Well, hopefully you like this dress, because I’ve ordered it and am wearing it to a wedding this weekend. I was a bit worried if it’d be too flashy, but I looked at the “how they wore it” section on Rent the Runway, and the majority of girls sported it to a wedding. I’m so excited to try it on!
