Guarantee you that title will get a lot of traffic, and not because of Cyber Monday. Yes, yes the biggest holiday shopping weekend of the year is not over yet – but hey, no one died this year, so great job, America. I actually can’t stand Black Friday. The idea of fighting over some cheap TV or standing in line in the cold for stores to open is not my cup of tea. In fact, I’d rather pay full price for something rather than be bothered by the madness that is the Thanksgiving weekend shopping extravaganza.
But hey, maybe that’s why I’m so poor all the time. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I used to work retail, maybe because I don’t have kids and therefore don’t need to fight people at Toys R Us. Maybe, just maybe, it’s because I do 90% of all my shopping online that keeps me cooped up indoors on Black Friday. Fun fact: I actually strolled Newbury Street on Saturday and the stores were dead – maybe that’s the trick. Got a dress for $6, though. Cha-ching!
Basically, Cyber Monday was meant for people like me who hate fighting over items, standing in line and freezing outdoors. So let’s all give a collective “thanks, internet” while we count our savings. Hey, I even shopped Black Friday from my parents’ couch in Long Island – got a $390 cashmere sweater for $53 because Gilt Groupe is amazing. Sure, it wasn’t holiday shopping per se, but I’ll get to that eventually.
So what exactly are the best deals happening this Cyber Monday? Let me break it down for you:
Bluefly technically started their sale yesterday, but it’s too good to pass up. Everything on the store is 80% off original price (read: original retail price, not Bluefly discount) AND you get $40 off every purchase of $200 or more plus free shipping.
Everything on J. Crew Factory (and in their stores) is 50% off. This is pretty much my go-to anyway, since its prices are so much better than regular J. Crew (but it will always have my heart).
As someone who owns this mixer, I can’t stress enough how great of a deal this is. eBay is offering some major Cyber Monday deals – including the blender for $185 rather than it’s usual $250. Check out the site for all the housewares you could want.
Maybe it’s because I don’t know much about electronics, but I think $230 on a 32′ TV is a bargain. Best Buy (which doesn’t have many stores left) has the TV deals for you, without the pushing and shoving.
I almost didn’t want to post anything from Amazon, as I’m terrified of the idea of “delivery drones” but this list would be incomplete without them, given that they’re the online shopping internet giant. Plus, I just received this as an early Christmas gift, so there’s something for everyone.
Both Banana Republic and Gap are going to be 40% off everything tomorrow. Making Christmas shopping for Jon a heck of a lot cheaper! Just type in CYBER at the checkout and you’re good to go!
Shopping for Amy and I? Check out the Net-A-Porter sale. With tons of items 50% off, like those drop-dead-gorgeous rose gold booties, you’re sure to find something for your fashion-conscious girlfriend, best friend, daughter, sister, wife, eff buddy. Whatever.
