‘Tis the Season to be Shiny…

As I mentioned when I needed your help picking out a December Trend Tuesday, the next four(ish) weeks are all about the bling bling. Metallics. Are. Everywhere. I personally did a happy dance when designers realized rose gold was also a metal and made a ton of different items out of it. Rose gold is definitely my favorite metal – screw the white and yellow versions. While everyone gears up for their holiday parties and cookie swaps, I have to ask – how do you plan on incorporating the heavy metal into your wardrobe?

I digress, I believe metallics are a neutral. You can wear them with pretty much any pattern, color, whatever. In fact, I move that from now on, sequins and shine are mandatory on at least one item of clothing (or accessories) in any given outfit. Of course, I’m not adhering to that rule because I unfortunately don’t have enough metallic things (although I basically bought everything bedazzled on JCrew.com during a finals week freak out this past Friday – post on that to come).

Here are some of my favorite metallic pieces to rock during the holiday season – dare you to go crazy and wear all of them at once:

Yes, those booties get posted twice because they are magnificent (and still available in my size). What do you think? Will you be rocking metallics this season?
