Friday Finds: Peter Pilotto For Target

AHHHHHHHHHHHH I’m so excited. I just can’t hide it. Cue snaps and an extra spring in my step, because I am literally hiding my credit card until this line comes out … so I can spend my balance on it. Because OH MAH GAWD this is a good one. I feel like I say this over every collaboration (Isabel Marant for H&M, anyone?) but I really think this is the first collection where I’d wear every single piece.

I have been a huge fan of Peter Pilotto’s runway presentation for years, and I love his sporty aesthetic. Now that it’s well within my price range, I’ll be looking to add some pieces to my closet. I was so excited when this was announced last September, following my disappointment with the way Phillip Lim for Target fit me (it didn’t – and by that point the majority of the collection was sold out before I could switch sizes). The majority of the collection will be under $60, well within reason to officially go crazy and buy everything, right? One thing I should say up front before we take a look at some of my favorite pieces: If you don’t like prints, this may not be for you, because the collection is all about mixing prints and having fun with fashion. This is essentially my sartorial dream.

Now, without further ado, here are some of my favorite picks:

Look 14 - $50.

Mixed Print Dress – $50.

Get this mixed pattern dress on my body immediately. This is perfect for spring when it’s not warm enough for short sleeves yet. I will say that I’ll be doing some serious crunches before I attempt such an out-there design, though.

Red Lace Blouse - $35.

Red Lace Blouse – $35.

Pairing this blouse with skinny jeans and boots is going to be my new “casual Friday” outfit from now on. I guarantee this will be the first item in my cart because I’m so obsessed with it.

I’m letting you know in advance I’ll mostly be picking the red items, since I don’t look good in ice blue. These kinds of dresses are perfect for those days you feel a little heavier (or when you know you’re going out for a huge meal and still want to look cute!)

Okay, maybe I lied about not picking any of the blue stuff, because this dress is just too amazing to pass up. Really need to get started on those crunches I mentioned earlier, though. Or at least invest in some Spanx.

Dress - $80.

Dress – $80.

Okay, so this dress is the outlier in the “mostly under $60” collection – but wouldn’t it be perfect to wear to a fun outdoor summer wedding? Pair it with a cardigan for work and you’ve got an awesome outfit.

Dress - $40.

Dress – $40.

Not digging the shoes that go with this dress, but OH MY GOD I NEED THAT DRESS. It’s like the ultimate for looking super put-together and yet not showing an effort at all.
