Friday Finds: Everlane

I don’t know about you, but for basic t’s and everyday blouses, I can’t justify a $90+ t-shirt by J Brand or Vince. These highly regarded brands don’t even use 100% cotton or linen to make up for the high cost. But everyone needs a fair amount of well fitting basics in a wardrobe to create flexibility, clean color and crisp lines. So in an effort to regain control of my closet after a very ugly spring cleaning fiasco of 2014, it was obvious that replenishing my basics was the necessary place to start before summer (as having fresh, everyday wear is essential to a fashionista’s wardrobe). And so I discovered Everlane.

Everlane focuses on “radical transparency” in both quality and product markups. Somewhat of a novelty, no? The San Francisco-based company is only four years old (still a baby!), but I’m completely convinced by their product and method. They make thoughtful choices to keep costs low, like only having an online store, keeping a small and efficient staff, and relentlessly building personal relationships with fabric mills to ensure top quality materials at honest rates. They might as well be fashion warriors.

I am obsessed with Everlane’s modern clean lines that define the design too. Everlane focuses on the necessities, like flowy blouses, tanks, cozy pull-overs, button-downs, and classic belts. Everything is perfectly ready for pairing with some printed chinos, and denim shorts during the summer.

The style reminds me of the effortless chic that is iconic of French street style. And best yet, they carry silk and cashmere!!! I know. I was excited as well. Finding a cashmere sweater that isn’t last season’s lime green or vibrant violet for under $150 is nearly impossible. But Everlane seems to make it happen.

Here’s what I’m raving about:

The Box Shirt

The Box Shirt – $55

The High-Low Belt

The High-Low Belt – $40

The Ryan Pocket Tee

The Ryan Pocket Tee – $25

The Silk Point Collar

The Silk Point Collar – $80

The Silk Rounded Collar - Blush

The Silk Point Collar – $80

The Silk Rounded Collar - Merigold

The Silk Rounded Collar – $80

The Silk Short Sleeve

The Silk Short Sleeve – $65

The Slouchy Cashmere Cardigan

The Slouchy Cashmere Cardigan – $140

Those are only a few of my choice items, but they also have have tons more to offer. Everlane is constantly adding to the collection as well.  Check out their sleeveless colored shirts for the summer, and totes to carry of your life necessities. I’m thinking one of their weekender duffles with a white silk sleeveless button-up and I’ll be ready for a beachy getaway.
